Bringing Fashion Home: Military

Military jackets are a must for this fall. From classic epaulettes to metallic buttons to tailored wool, ladies dress it up with a pair of pumps or guys wear it rugged with military-inspired boots. A trend fit for both men and women, casual and tailored, classic and modern. But take a step off the battlefield and bring the military style into your home. Add some modern, military flair with textures wools, nailhead trim or tailored but visually substantial pieces to make any room the place to lounge when you’re off duty.

Bringing Fashion Home: Pearls

Elegant. Sophisticated. Classy. The perfect accessory to your favorite little black dress for a night on the town or your power suit for a meeting with the CEOs. But who said pearls are just an accessory to a great outfit? What about an elegant master suite? Or a traditional formal dining room? Whether they’re large or small, black or white, single strand or multiple, pearls create an eye-catching centerpiece in these light fixtures.

Style notes: For an eclectic look, use a traditional pearl and glass chandelier in a bright, funky living room or kid’s room. For a grand entrance, use a large chandelier in a foyer with double ceiling height.

Holiday Wrapping Ideas

Thanksgiving is tomorrow which marks the start of the holiday SHOPPING season. So I wanted to get some ideas out there for wrapping all those presents. Over the weekend, I was inspired by the recycled Capri Sun bags. I love the idea of re-purposing items for a new use. Here's how I translated the idea into wrapping my Godson's 3rd birthday present.

Cookies!!! The mini packs of Oreos, Chips Ahoy! and Nutter Butters made a colorful and TASTY presentation. So think about who you're wrapping the special present for and make the outside of the box as memorable as the inside. Happy Holidays everyone!

Bringing Fashion Home: Lace

Fall fashion trend of the year: lace. Comes in a variety of colors, but most popular, white or black. Though it has that vintage look, it can also portray modern styles. From one extreme to the other, lace is very femme with an elegant look but can also be seen as edgy with darker shades. Creating a statement wherever it goes, lace definitely adds a nice touch to a living room, lady’s bedroom or even patio!
